Overview

PitchABC LLC ("PitchABC", "we", "us", or "our") operates the PitchABC platform at app.pitchabc.com. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information about you when you use our platform. By using PitchABC you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Account information

Name, email address, password (hashed), and role (founder or investor) when you register.

Founder profile data

Responses to up to 215 questions across 9 sections covering your company, team, product, traction, financials, market, strategy, milestones, and funding information. This data powers your investor readiness score and roadmap.

Investor profile data

Investment thesis, sector preferences, check size range, and accreditation verification documents (uploaded to secure AWS S3 storage).

Profile photos

Stored securely on AWS S3 and accessed via time-limited signed URLs.

Payment information

We do not store your card details. Payments are processed by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. We store only non-sensitive billing metadata (plan type, Stripe customer ID, last four digits of card).

Communications

Messages sent between founders and investors through our encrypted chat system. Message bodies are encrypted at rest using Laravel's application-level encryption.

Usage data

Log data, session information, and feature usage collected automatically to operate and improve the platform.

OAuth data

If you sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and a provider-specific identifier. We do not receive or store your social media password.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the PitchABC platform
  • To generate your investor readiness score and personalized roadmap
  • To match founders with relevant investors based on thesis alignment
  • To process payments and manage your subscription
  • To send transactional emails (account verification, scoring updates, connection requests, alerts) via Postmark
  • To monitor platform health and debug errors via Sentry
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions

AI & LLM Processing

PitchABC uses Anthropic's Claude API to extract signals from your founder profile answers, generate your readiness score narrative, and provide inline coaching on profile questions. Relevant portions of your profile answers are sent to Anthropic's API for this purpose. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own privacy and usage policies. We do not use your data to train AI models, and AI Output is generated solely to serve your account. Readiness scores are computed deterministically by our proprietary rubric — LLM processing is used only for signal extraction and narrative generation.

How We Share Your Information

With investors (founders): If you are a founder and set your profile to visible, investors on the platform can view your profile information. Tier 1 information (company overview, sector, band, risk flags) is visible to all verified investors. Tier 2 information (team details, traction, investment ask, documents) is visible only to investors you approve a connection with.

With founders (investors): Your thesis and connection activity is visible to founders you connect with.

Service providers: We share data with third-party providers who help us operate the platform: Stripe (payments), Postmark (email), AWS (hosting, S3 storage, Secrets Manager), Anthropic (AI processing), and Sentry (error monitoring). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

Legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PitchABC, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal data.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request account deletion, we will anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, retaining only aggregate or anonymized data that cannot identify you. Accreditation documents are deleted from S3 storage within 30 days of a rejected verification review.

Your Rights & Choices

Profile visibility: Founders can toggle their profile visibility at any time from the dashboard.

Account deletion / GDPR erasure: You can request deletion of your account and personal data from your account settings. This will anonymize your profile, cancel any active subscription, and remove your personal information from our systems.

Data access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by emailing support@pitchabc.com.

Marketing emails: Transactional emails (account-related) cannot be opted out of while your account is active. If we introduce marketing emails, we will provide an opt-out mechanism.

Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption at rest for chat messages, time-limited signed URLs for file access, HTTPS for all data in transit, and application-level secrets management via AWS Secrets Manager. No security system is impenetrable; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable precautions and will notify you promptly in the event of a breach affecting your data.

Cookies & Sessions

We use session cookies necessary for the operation of the platform (authentication, CSRF protection). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Session data is stored server-side and expires after your session ends or after a period of inactivity.

Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

International Users

PitchABC is operated from the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Platform you consent to this transfer.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you by email for material changes. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
